Grr(aphic) Mondays: It’s been one hell of a year!

You have probably noticed that this Grr(aphic) Mondays is coming to you a little later that usual, unfortunately due to a huge volume of Christmas-related activities I’m a little bit everywhere at the moment. That is my excuse at least. This is the last Grr(aphic) Mondays for the year as I’m taking a week off after this, so just treat it like the last day of school. I’m not going to cover anything big in this one, although I have some brilliant things planned for the New Year, so grab your favourite toy and let me waffle for five minuets.

This year has been massive. In the last twelve months I have started this website, undertaken an internship with, gone through a huge breakup, complete my second year of university, attended my first comic book convention as press, got my first professional writing job offer, started a new relationship and through it all one thing has been there for me. My writing. There have been a lot of moments of sadness, fear, happiness, bewilderment and excitement over the last twelve months and my writing has always been there to distract me and, ultimately, work as a form of self-therapy. It’s been a tough road but having this website and all my readers, which number over 10,000 now, has given me the strength and confidence to keep on going. Writing is my life and it is also my greatest ally.

I want to implore you right now to get writing. No matter what faith you affiliate yourself with, most of us get a bit of free time this part of the year so use it. Start a WordPress blog or even a diary and get writing, write about what you love, it’s what I do. Fiction, Non-Ficition, Auto-biography. Someone is out there looking for exactly the sort of stuff you want to write and by not writing it you are depriving them of your brilliance. I appreciate there may be some readers who are unable to write, this is perfectly fine, I can’t write in any language except English, go find a class. There is no stigma. Now is the best time. Just. Go. Write.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

…that’s this week’s Grr(aphic) Mondays!!! The next BearSleuth article will be a BearSleuth Opinion Piece on Wednesday the 30th where I’ll be giving my top ten for the year!
